Power And Politics

Many of the leaders in our society are guided by unhealthy intentions. Instead of seeking to serve the people and heal our nation’s ills, their actions and decisions are primarily motivated by their desire for power. Many of the people running our country are run by their addictions to approval, sex, power and control. Unfortunately, few truly healthy individuals want to submit themselves to the necessary abuses inherent to our political races – the verbal abuse both given and received, the huge amounts of money spent, the integrity sacrificed through the concessions, lies and manipulations offered in order to win. Our system of electing our officials is so corrupt that there is little possibility of attracting a person with a strong, personally responsible, loving inner adult self. This is not to say that none of our elected representatives are honest and caring. Some are certainly motivated by positive intentions but, unfortunately, they constitute a minority. There is no training required in personal responsibility to run for office. Our leaders are not required to heal their dysfunctional aspects in order to become honest and trustworthy people. The prerequisites for political positions mostly include having enough money, enough powerful people behind the scenes, being male, and being white. Our political arena is designed to attract wounded people who need approval and power in order to feel worthy and validated. Obviously, such a person, with little or no internally derived sense of self-worth and integrity, is very susceptible to corruption. As the adage says: “Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” Power corrupts when a person is motivated by his or her desire for power over others, and few people have accomplished enough inner healing to transcend the desire for control over others. A healthy person in office who is more concerned with serving the people than with getting re-elected could accomplish a great deal. Such a person was depicted in the movie Dave. In this film the actual president is in a coma and the White House officials, seeking to conceal the truth from the public so they can maintain control, put a look-alike into the president’s seat. Dave, however, is a man of heart, and rather than allowing himself to be controlled he sets about making necessary changes – cutting money where it is not needed and allocating it into more crucial avenues, like child care and the creation of jobs. He even takes responsibility for the corruption of the actual president and gracefully “dies” as the actual president is dying so the vice-president, a man of great integrity who was maligned by the power structure, could take over in his rightful place. The movie is, of course, a fantasy. Sadly, we would never elect a man of such integrity – a straightforward, honest, caring, and financially middle-class man like Dave. Our election process does not allow for this. Revamping our election process would give people like Dave an opportunity to run for office. We desperately need people who care more for the common good than for their own popularity. We need brilliant, creative, honest and caring people to lead our country, but this will never happen with our present election system. We have incredible talent in this great country of ours, talent that could eliminate hunger and homelessness, and heal the internal wounds that create health problems, drug abuse, racism, violence and crime. But this talent is rarely tapped because running our country has been based on the earthly values of greed and power over others rather than the spiritual values of honesty, compassion and caring. Unfortunately, neither our government nor most big businesses are based on the spiritual principles of compassion and caring about the common good. I have no doubt that if our government was based on spiritual principles we would not have the hunger, homelessness, crime, health problems, and drug abuse that are endemic to our modern society.

Politics, Is it Like Any Other Job?

I am a politician, is it respectful or stressful, is it rewarding or strenuous, is it happiness or corruption, I am confused. The other day I was looking into the possibilities of a good career prospective. And guess which option I stumbled upon. POLITICS! And as I googled the pros and cons of this career option, something struck me. While perceived as bad, illegal, dark, dirty, joining the political system is a lifelong commitment- (Considering the fact that the most senior members never retire ever), this is a life. Someone who is willing to be in the limelight for any reason, someone who doesn’t care what others think of, someone who is sure of success, someone who is daring and willing to fight at any cost is a politician. The Pros are far too many- Money, power, responsibility, publicity come in many forms. With the right amount of exposure and good work, people will notice and appreciate you. Be aware this positive appreciation is always being followed by evil opposition parties. Being never a 9-5 standard job, commitment towards your duties is more a priority. Even if you fail to brush your teeth in the morning, you need to decide your next move or be ready for your party meeting. Election seasons/ news clips/ or any scandalous times are the most stressful. Being fluent in many languages, authoritative spirit and a friendly nature are sometimes too much in demand that you may choose to live in another’s shoes. While young Indian political leaders are never encouraged, it helps to have a family political backing. All in all, it’s just like any other job, with a few exceptions of time and amount of work. Any number of holidays can be taken provided you do your job well. The job is well paying too, but can result in illegal ventures, and greed naturally steps in. While the satisfaction of a job well done can be imagined as in any job, it’s quite an effort to step in honesty within this system. A good person is either eliminated or made to join the evil, and good triumphs evil happy ending is a rare scenario. While the system is changing, students are interested in the political happenings in the country; many are coming out of their shell and voicing their opinions. Student organisations are now braver and demand a change. Rising corruption, rape cases, immorality and evil doings in the country are now open to the public. The young Indian politicians want a change and are doing their bit to water the fires down. Let’s encourage our children, grandchildren, friends, cousins, and the next door neighbour who fights daily to burn alive the Indian oil of honesty and respect. While films, theatres are a good way to spread awareness to students, schools should do their bit to encourage people for their greater good. One of the great leaders on Maharashtra, Shree Prashant Thakur. Shree Prashant Thakur, MLA Panvel has always been encouraging youth. Prashant Thakur, MLA Panvel, have always been on front for emerging young political leaders from the Congress who is all set to make a difference with youth power. The youth taking keen interest in the politics is what our country needs at this time. With large youth population, our country can soar to heights and become the super power of the world in all spheres. The world largest youth populated country is all set to go to polls this 2014. It’s only before time when the results of the poll will declare if the future of Indian political system depends on young political leaders.

When Politics Come In Handy

Many people in modern society are very politically motivated. They belong to a political group and as a result have strong opinions about most current events and topical issues, not surprisingly most of which are usually shared by all the other people who belong to the same group. Sometimes it’s as though they have to check with the group to find out what they actually think about something. Does that seem sad to you? Me too. However there are times when being politically slanted can come in handy. It isn’t all just sounding like a clone produced by an idealistic cult. Sometimes those of us who actually think about things before responding have a disadvantage. This seems counter-intuitive to us normal people who don’t run every single thing everybody says through a political filter. I mean, we actually listen to people and don’t suspect a hidden agenda when the person behind the counter at Denny’s asks us for our order. We think that getting into an argument with the waitress at the point because she didn’t address global warming is a bit nuts. But we are a bit short-sighted, and don’t understand how being a political nut can actually be a benefit in many situations. For example, let’s say you find yourself in a group of starving people that are waiting for food to be distributed by some government authority. Now let’s say that you are really against the killing of certain sea mammals. OK, so they announce on the loudspeaker that the expected food shipment didn’t come today but a small group of natives managed to club one of these mammals to death and it has been grilled up medium-rare. However there is only enough for about 60% of the people. Because you are so appalled at the whole notion, you know not to bother stampeding with most of the other starving people towards the front. OK, lets go with a more realistic example. Let’s say a scientist stops by your work and wants to demonstrate a new power source which uses human anger as it’s fuel. None of your co-workers care much about politics and thus are pretty easy going people. When the scientist tries to demonstrate the product, there is no fuel at hand for it. So your boss makes a slanted statement in support of the opposite political party as you, and now you are the one who gets to fuel the new energy source. All right, all right, here is an even more realistic example. A co-worker accidentally states that she thinks Americans should support whoever happens to be President regardless of which party you belong to. Now you can finally put that person in their place and let them have it. Justice will at least temporarily be done, and no doubt you will gain the respect of everyone in your office. Basically whenever unwarranted anger is needed, or lashing out at people who don’t deserve it will save the day, your political affiliations will be a needed and much appreciated resource. Don’t bother waiting around for thanks. Just be happy that you are helping to save the world a little bit at a time. Flyers And Politics

The best part of flyer printing is that it is the easiest and the cheapest way of spreading your political message across to the masses, on a piece of paper. By distributing flyers people can read your messages at their leisure. This makes your appeal simple and free from any confrontation. You can reach the masses by pasting your flyers on billboards, or by distributing them, or by mailing the flyers. Though many countries have banned the pasting of flyers, there are still many countries where pasting of flyers is prevalent. There are various sizes of flyers available, such as A4, A5, DL and Credit Card or CC flyers. You can choose the flyer based on the requirement of your party, and the message that you intend to convey. Flyers are useful in sending the right message and information about the party to the masses. Nobody knows the exact time when flyers came into existence. There have been instances in 12th century when flyers were used resistance groups and parties to send messages to the people. The main intention of these groups and parties was to gather as many people as possible for their cause. This was hugely successful, as it was cheap and had a wide reach. Today, with the arrival of desktop publishing, the use of flyers has gained prominence. Desktop publishing has not only made flyer publishing quicker but also cheaper. Today, thousands of flyers can be printed instantly with the help of desktop publishing. The internet is another reason flyer printing has become easier. Designs of flyers can be easily sent from one place to another with the help of the internet. Once these designs are approved, the flyers can be printed using desktop publishing. With so many political advertisements splashed across various mediums, people become bored and start ignoring them. So it important your political flyers should be interesting, and influence as many people as possible. The main aim of your flyers should be to present your party’s ideology to the masses in a simple and appealing manner. Today, people have limited time to read flyers, so it is important that you keep it as brief and precise as possible. Make sure the political flyers that you prepare are easily understandable by ordinary citizens. Don’t use jargon and phrases that can be understood by only a select few. The flyers should not be overcrowded, as people find it difficult to understand the message that your party intends to convey. You can use the services of a professional when designing the flyer of your party. A professional will help to make the flyer appealing, so the masses can be influenced using them. It is important that your flyers shouldn’t have any grammatical and spelling errors. This will have a negative impact on the popularity of your party. You can include the pictures of your popular political leader, to increase your appeal. Make sure the flyers have your party symbol, as this will help people identify your party at the time of voting. Flyer printing is a useful and important tool that most political parties use for campaigning and protests. So it is important that you use this age-old tool effectively and efficiently.

Don’t Play Around With Politics

Politics is a dirty thing no matter how noble intentions are. If you are a considerate citizen you will find here a lot of things that may interest you. If you are new in politics, this article is twice much the better for read. After a hard working day we come home, ready to drop from fatigue, and fall hopelessly on your sofa in front of the TV. Mechanically you take the remote controller and check your nine hundred channels for news or something interesting to lift you up. On your favorite channel there is a news sequence and a good-looking woman explains the current situation. There is a strike somewhere in your neighborhood; you could hardly drive through the crowd. They want a wages raise or more suitable conditions or something else. Though your problems have to be the top priority for you, you still think about what is going on in your community. A crowd on the screen disappears and you see a clean-shaved face of some spokesman or politician commenting on the situation. His words are very considerate, carefully chosen and pleasant to hear, though his explanation of the problem is quite contradictory. Against your will you become involved in what he says, you almost believe him and ready to think of those on the streets as idiots, but another picture appears. Angry police tries to make people leave the street. Not as pleasant as the face of a spokesman. You turn the TV off and go to the kitchen to have a break and get your thoughts together. You just had a lesson of politics and obviously its ways are not to your taste. Now we are quite satisfied with our lives and don’t think about anything else but our profit. Politics or dirty games, if it doesn’t harm you, why should be concerned? We peacefully sit in our rooms, order term paper and play with our children. But this is until elections come about. Then you forget about your custom term paper and go into the anxiety of what is going on. Your head almost explodes because of the amount of information. Every day you see debates and read interesting articles in different sources. You imagine the fortune that was spent on all of this and its meaning makes you forget about your duty in front of your country. As a concerned citizen you care about the leaders and political parties within power in your country. And you behave like a concerned citizen: read articles and brochures, study candidates’ biography and contributions, listen to their plans of campaigns and think: who will be the best. The truth is, none of them will meet your requirements, for not everything you hear is truth. Power is a strong drug to get addicted to. This can probably be the most truthful statement that you hear during elections. To get power a person is ready to do almost anything to get it. Dirty games and black PR is a common thing. Blackmailing, cheating, overuse of the law happens on every step of the political career ladder. No one knows about dirty facts of one’s life until elections come. Once a politician comes out into a light, his voters can get to know everything about him, including the size of his bedroom. But again this is quite usual. And God prevent you from messing with one of the famous names. You won’t be able to look around when you’ll be left without property, family and hope for the better future. No matter how democratic elections are, you still can be sure that dirty games are involved. If you are still faithful to your leader that is very good, but sooner or later you’ll stop believing in nobility of his/her intentions and if after a series of tries to label your leader you still believe him, you must be a real patriot.
